MURIEL & WILL'S BEAUTIFUL WEDDING AT BARN 76 IN NEWTON, NC
There are some wedding days that just leave you smiling the entire drive home, and Muriel and Will's wedding was definitely one of those.
From the second I walked in, both of their families made me feel so welcome. Everyone was genuinely happy to be there celebrating these two, and it made the whole day feel relaxed, joyful, and full of so much love.
One of the things that stood out to me most about Muriel and Will is how important their faith is to them. Their outdoor ceremony at the beautiful gazebo at Barn 76 reflected that so well. After exchanging vows, they shared Communion together—a simple but incredibly meaningful moment that pointed back to the foundation of their marriage. It was one of those parts of the day where everything just seemed to slow down for a minute.
Before the ceremony, I spent some time with Muriel while she was getting ready, and I captured one of my favorite quiet moments from the morning. She was sitting on the floor in front of a mirror, putting on her makeup before the day officially began. I love photographs like that because years from now they'll remember not just what the day looked like, but how it felt in those calm moments before everything started.
Now...the groomsmen definitely kept things entertaining.
When it was time for their portraits, they decided the obvious thing to do was pick Will up and hold him sideways. 😂 Those are honestly some of my favorite kinds of wedding party photos because they actually show everyone's personalities instead of everyone just standing there smiling at the camera.
After the ceremony we snuck away for some portraits, and Muriel had the sweetest idea. She wanted to sit on the ground with her dress spread out in a big circle while Will rested his head in her lap. I photographed it from above, and I already know it's going to be one of those images I remember for a long time. We also created some dreamy portraits underneath her veil that felt so soft, romantic, and timeless.
Inside the barn, the reception was full of happy conversations, laughter, and celebrating these two. I photographed all the little details they worked so hard on, their cake cutting, and so many candid moments with the people they love most.
To finish the night, everyone gathered outside to send them off. Guests lined up on both sides while Muriel and Will ran through the middle before stopping for one last kiss. It made for such a fun ending to an already incredible day—and yes, we absolutely got the photo.
Muriel and Will, thank you so much for trusting me with your wedding day. It was such a joy getting to celebrate alongside you and your families. You two are so kind, so genuine, and it's so easy to see the love you have for each other. I'm so excited for everything that's ahead for you both.
