Snowy Save-the-Date Session at Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden | Colleen + Brandon

Some sessions are extra special… and this one was definitely one of them. 💛

Last weekend, I got to spend the most magical snowy afternoon with Colleen and Brandon at the Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden in Greensboro, NC, and I’m still not over how beautiful it turned out. They needed a few photos for their save-the-dates, so we planned a quick little session—nothing too long, just enough to capture their love and excitement as they get ready for this next chapter.

And let me tell you… the weather had other plans in the BEST way possible.

A Winter Wonderland in Greensboro

It had just snowed, and the garden looked like something out of a movie. Fresh snow covered the ground, the sunlight was bouncing off everything, and the whole place had that bright, magical glow that only happens after a good snowfall. ❄️✨

It was cold, yes… but Colleen and Brandon didn’t even seem to notice. They were completely in their own little world, laughing, staying close, and just being effortlessly sweet together. Honestly, it made my job way too easy.

The Tanger Garden is already such a gorgeous location any time of year, but seeing it covered in snow was something else. Between the pathways, the trees, and all the open natural light, it created the prettiest backdrop for romantic save-the-date photos.

Colleen + Brandon Are That Couple

These two are the kind of couple that makes you smile behind the camera the entire time.

They’re fun, laid-back, and the way Brandon looks at Colleen is just… 🥹 you can feel how much he loves her. Colleen was glowing (as always), and together they were the perfect mix of playful and romantic.

We got a great variety of shots—some sweet and cozy, some more classic and posed, and of course a few that show their personalities and the way they naturally connect with each other.

And can we talk about how good they looked in the snow?? Like hello?? Winter engagement vibes for the win.

The Sweetest (and Funniest) Little Moment

One of my favorite parts of the session happened right at the end.

I prompted Brandon to hold Colleen’s hand and spin her around, and it was instantly one of those “okay stop this is adorable” moments. Colleen was laughing, her movement looked so natural and joyful, and the photos turned out SO cute.

But then… Colleen decided it was only fair to return the favor. 😂

So she grabbed Brandon’s hand and spun him too, and I’m not exaggerating when I say I was behind the camera grinning like an idiot. The entire moment was full of laughter and personality, and it perfectly captured what I love most about them—how comfortable and playful they are together.

Those are the moments you can’t fake, and they always end up being the ones couples look back on and laugh about forever.

A Session Close to My Heart

This session was extra special to me because I’ve known Colleen and Brandon for over two years, and Colleen is genuinely one of my close friends. Getting to photograph someone you care about so much hits different. 🥹

There’s just something really meaningful about being trusted to capture such an important season of their life. It wasn’t just another session-it felt like I was documenting a memory that we’ll all look back on years from now. And those are the sessions that I live for.

And We’re Just Getting Started…

The best part? This is only the beginning.

This snowy save-the-date session was just a quick little sneak peek into their story, because I’ll also be photographing their full engagement session this spring (when everything is blooming and green and dreamy), and then their wedding this fall. 🍂💍

So yes… we’re going to have winter magic, spring romance, AND fall wedding perfection all in one love story, and I honestly can’t wait.

Colleen and Brandon, I’m so thankful for you both. Thank you for letting me be a part of this season and capture these moments for you. Your wedding is going to be incredible, and I’m counting down the days already.

Until then, enjoy some of my favorite images from their snowy save-the-date session at Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden!
